Mkuze Game Reserve
Mkuze Game Reserve has almost a hundred years of history, having been proclaimed a protected area in 1912. Mkuze Game Reserve is known for the many famous wildlife pictures, which have been taken at this Reserve. Rated among the top 10 birding spots in Southern Africa, with over 450 species. Mkuze is made up of 40,000 hectares in Northern Zululand. Mkuze Game Reserve is an ultimate African holiday destination for international tourists. Three game viewing hides have been set up next to the Kubube, Kamasinga, Kwamalibala pans. Visitors can leave their cars and enter the hides. Depending on the water levels, there is chance of seeing all types of wildlife coming to quench their thirst. These hides are a particular favorite of professional photographers.
A number of majestic species such as Elephant, Leopard, Cheetah, Kudu, Rhino, Nyala and Eland roam the park. Along with these bigger game species, numerous other smaller mammals, reptiles and amphibians can be found within Mkuze's borders. Mkuze Game reserve has an astonishing diversity of natural habitats and truly is a place of great beauty.
