Tala Private Game Reserve

Tala Game Reserve is a 3000 hectare private lodge just thirty minutes from Durban. Surrounded by beautiful hills just outside of Pietermaritzburg, Tala is regarded as one of Kwa-Zulu Natal's top safari lodges. Tala Game Reserve has on record over 380 bird species, including Ostritch, the worlds largest bird. Big game such as Rhino, Wildebeest and Giraffe are residents of Tala Game Reserve, along with a number of antelope and smaller mammals. There is a small dam with 'Hides' around its perimeter for keen birders wishing to catch a glimpse of a Kingfisher or Cormorant. There is a pod of Hippo's which reside in the dam, the Hides provide the perfect opportunity to get closer to these two ton herbivores.
