Leaving Durban we embark for our safari, taking a scenic drive towards Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Reserve. Once through the Memorial Gate we begin our game viewing. Keeping a lookout out for the numerous White and Black Rhino for which the Park is famous. We make our way towards Hilltop camp, where we may encounter other members of the 'Big5', such as Elephant and Buffalo.

Arriving at Hilltop camp we settle down for lunch at the Mpuyane restaurant. Here we have an opportunity to take in the beautiful views of the valleys below. A perfect spot to lookout for Vultures and Bateleur Eagles flying above in search prey. After lunch you continue your wildlife viewing activities, on the lookout for the largest and smallest of the animal kingdom. By visiting one of the many “Hides” we will increase our chances of seeing animals coming to quench their thirst in the hot African sun. The big cats are all found in Hluhluwe-Umfolozi. Lion, Leopard and Cheetah are often spotted along the river banks, and close to the main camp gates. We then move on to visit to the Centenary Center in the Umfolozi side of the reserve. Here you will learn of Hluhluwe-Umfolozi's efforts to save the White and Black Rhino from extinction. There may be animals in the 'bomas', awaiting relocation to populate other parks. A perfect opportunity to get even closer to South Africa's wildlife.
