Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Luxury Safari3 days, 2 nights
Hluhluwe-Umfolozi has been a pioneer safari park for many years, setting the standards in South African wildlife conservation. Hluhluwe-Umfolozi is steeped in history and natural wonders. One of South Africa's top Safari parks, close to Durban city. Day one - Leaving Durban around 7am for your Safari, we take a scenic drive along the Kwa-Zulu Natal coast. We stop at Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitation Centre. Here you will have the opportunity to view and learn about Caracal, Serval, African Wild Cat and Cheetah. You will be taken into the Cheetah enclosure with a guide, a once in a life time experience to have pictures taken with, and to interact with these amazing cats. Arriving at the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Reserve around mid-day, we go straight in to a game drive, making our way to Hilltop Camp. Once settled in we will set out for an afternoon game drive, in search of Hluhluwe-Umfolozi's 84 mammal and 425 bird species. Dinner is at Hilltop's restaurant, a traditional buffet will be laid out.
Hluhluwe Luxury SafariDay two - After enjoying a buffet breakfast, we head out for a game drive. Leaving Hilltop camp we have the Day Three - A final buffet breakfast is followed by a game drive with your safari guide. We make our way out of Hluhluwe-Umfolozi and onto the St Lucia Estuary for a boat cruise along the river . Here you will have the opportunity to see, Crocodile, Hippo and Fish Eagles. A perfect opportunity for photographers to capture the beauty of this World Heritage Site. Travel into the heart of one of Africa's top safari parks with an experienced and qualified guide. opportunity to see Elephants and Leopard which frequent the area. We make our way towards the Umfolozi side of the reserve, where sightings of Lion, Hyena and Black Rhino are common. On our way back to camp we will stop at the Centenary Center, home of Operation Rhino. Here you will be shown Hluhluwe-Umfolozi's efforts to save not only the Rhino, but other animal species from extinction. There may be animals in the 'boma's' and this will be a good opportunity to get close to them, and see Hluhluwe-Umfolozi's efforts first hand. Dinner is at the Hilltop camp restaurant, a hot and cold buffet with a variety of traditional African and international dishes. There is also a quaint bar at the restaurant entrance.
